Mr. Deepok Kumar Baral is a renowned businessman who established DSM Commodities Ltd. in 1991. With over three decades of experience, his company specializes in marketing and supplying various agricultural and manufacturing products, including raw cotton. DSM Commodities Ltd. is also the exclusive agent for “Oerlikon Textile GmbH & Co KG, Germany” a global leader in polymer processing solutions and man-made fiber technology. The company has successfully supplied man made fiber and PET plant machines to major industry players in Bangladesh, such as Modern Syntex Ltd., Infinia Group, Noman Group of Industries, HS Composite Textiles Ltd., and Meghna Group of Industries. DSM Commodities Ltd. has been recognized with the “Indentors Award” and “Best Indenting Service Exporters Awards” by BIAA for six consecutive years (2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022)
In addition to his business achievements, Mr. Baral is actively involved in various socio-cultural activities in Bangladesh and also completed the “U.S. Grain Marketing System Short Course” conducted under International Grains Program held in 1989 at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, USA. He currently serves as Vice President of the Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ABCCI) (2024-2025) and Treasurer of the French Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCIFB) (2024-2025). He has held multiple leadership positions, including Director of the Bangladesh Indenting Agents’ Association (BIAA) (2013-2018, 2024-2025), Vice President of the Bangladesh Cotton Association (BCA) (2007-2012), and member of several chambers of commerce including Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham), India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI), and Golden member of Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI).
Mr. Baral is also actively involved in community service and cultural organizations. He is a life member of several clubs and societies, including the Baridhara Cosmopolitan Club Ltd., Gulshan North Club Ltd., and Gulshan Society. He serves as General Secretary of the Mahaprakash Math (Hindu Temple) and holds various positions in the Rotary Club of Baridhara Sunrise, including Additional Governor (2023-24), Deputy Governor (2015-16), and Past President & Major Donor. He has traveled extensively for business conferences, seminars, and symposiums across Europe, America, Asia, Africa, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and many more.
